2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the personal information you voluntarily provide to us. This may include:

  • Prayer requests: Your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the content of your prayer request, submitted via our Prayer Wall page.
  • Contact enquiries: Your name, email address, subject, and message, submitted via our Contact page.
  • Donation information: When you make a donation, payment processing is handled entirely by third-party providers (see Section 5). We do not collect or store your card details, bank account numbers, or PayPal credentials on our servers.
  • Event registrations: Your name and contact details when you register for events such as the Holy Land Tour via Google Forms.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Prayer support: To pray for your requests and, where you have given consent, to share them with our prayer team.
  • Communication: To respond to your enquiries and keep you informed about ministry activities, only where you have opted in.
  • Donation processing: To facilitate and acknowledge your financial gifts, including Gift Aid declarations where applicable.
  • Event management: To manage event registrations and communicate event details to you.

Legal basis: We process your data on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) and, for donations, on the basis of contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR). For Gift Aid, we are required to retain records as a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) UK GDPR).

4. How We Handle Form Submissions

Our prayer request and contact forms use your device's default email application (mailto:) to send your submission directly to our ministry email address. This means:

  • Your form data is not transmitted through our web server.
  • Your data passes through your own email provider and our email provider only.
  • No form data is stored in any database connected to this website.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

GoCardless (Direct Debit payments)

Processes recurring Direct Debit donations. Your bank details are collected and stored securely by GoCardless, not by us. GoCardless is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

PayPal (Online donations)

Processes one-off PayPal donations. Your PayPal account details are handled entirely by PayPal and are never shared with us.

Braintree (Card payments)

Processes credit and debit card donations via our secure donation portal. Card details are handled by Braintree (a PayPal service) and are never stored on our servers.

YouTube (Video embeds)

We embed YouTube videos on our website. YouTube may set cookies and collect data when you interact with embedded videos. See Google's privacy policy for details.

Google Fonts

We load fonts from Google Fonts. When you visit our site, your browser may make a request to Google's servers, which may log your IP address.

Google Forms (Event registration)

Event registrations are collected via Google Forms. Data submitted through Google Forms is subject to Google's privacy policy.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

This website does not use first-party cookies or tracking technologies. We do not use analytics services such as Google Analytics.

We use sessionStorage (a browser feature that clears when you close the tab) to temporarily cache daily promise content and video data to improve page loading speed. This data is not personal information and is never sent to our servers.

Third-party embeds (YouTube, PayPal, GoCardless) may set their own cookies. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for information about their cookie practices.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We share your data only:

  • With our prayer team, where you have given explicit consent for your prayer request to be shared.
  • With payment processors (GoCardless, PayPal, Braintree) solely for the purpose of processing your donation.
  • Where required by law or regulation.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:

  • Prayer requests and contact enquiries: Retained in our email system for a reasonable period to provide prayer support and respond to enquiries, then deleted.
  • Donation records and Gift Aid declarations: Retained for a minimum of 6 years as required by HMRC for Gift Aid and charity accounting purposes.
  • Event registrations: Retained until the event has concluded and any follow-up communications are complete.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information:

  • Our website is served over HTTPS with SSL/TLS encryption.
  • Payment processing is handled by PCI DSS-compliant third-party providers.
  • We do not store sensitive financial information on our servers.

10. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
